Our mission is to improve access to justice and make legal assistance and remedies more accessible and affordable for individuals and consumers.
The ways we will do this may include:
Creating a free legal directory to help consumers find and retain qualified lawyers and other legal professionals in most or all legal practice areas across most or all U.S. legal jurisdictions;
Developing technology, including AI-based technology, that can help clients obtain high quality legal assistance at lower cost, while still keeping qualified lawyers in the loop;
Providing connections between legal professionals who are willing to provide pro bono (free or reduced cost) legal services and clients in need of such services;
Developing a "Code of Ethical Conduct" for businesses that serve consumers and motivating businesses to sign up for and comply with such a code;
Developing a free public database to report unethical or abusive conduct by consumer-facing businesses and incentivizing corporations to provide remedies in such situations;
Developing or identifying anti-fraud and data protection resources, as well as legal information resources and making those resources easily accessible to consumers;
Developing a low cost, fast, and user friendly technology-enabled means of efficiently and fairly resolving disputes, including disputes that may not have enough money at issue to justify incurring the costs of traditional litigation or existing alternative dispute resolution mechanisms;
Making the above resources readily available and accessible to the public through the ATJustice.org website and through a free app downloadable to common versions of smartphones and personal digital assistants;
Supporting work of other organizations, including non-profit organizations, dedicated to improving access to justice.
